Position Description:

  • Ability to service/install/program Intrusion Detection Systems, Access Control Systems, and CCTV systems.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot systems and perform repairs as necessary.
  • Document and Inform personnel regarding procedures and status of work orders.
  • Prepare documentation in a variety of written and electronic formats (e.g. daily paperwork/log, time and materials, etc.).
  • Assist and guide other trades personnel as may be required for supporting them in the completion of their work activities (i.e. coordination with electricians, locksmiths, carpenters).
  • Use a variety of diagnostic tools for troubleshooting and circuit analysis.
  • Use various hand and power tools such as drills and screwdriver for installation purposes.
  • Cabling installation, terminations and device installation.
  • All other reasonable duties as assigned by the Supervisor specific to the operation of daily business functions.

Requirements:

  • Possess or be able to obtain a DCJS Electronic Security License.
  • Punctual and available nights and weekends, if needed.
  • Able to work on ladders and lifts.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds, squat, climb, bend, and sit for prolong periods of time.
  • Have effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have great computer skills and effective knowledge of Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook).
  • Desire and ability to learn new technologies.
  • Possess and/or supply personal hand tools.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Pass background check and be able to obtain Military Bases Access.
  • Know how to use a multi-meter and understand Ohm’s Law.
  • Able to read and understand drawings and specs.
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, and a dependable team player.

Skills/Experience Desired:

  • IP experience is strongly recommended.
  • Honeywell Systems experience.
  • Terminate cat 6, coaxial, fiber, and other connections.
  • Excellent at multi-tasking, setting priorities, and follow-up.
  • Cable installation experience is strongly recommended.
